Nosework Introducing Odor Videos

So in these sessions we are working with birch oil as the odor.   This is the third session, and in the first two food was placed next to the birch oil.  So really the dogs were just getting used to the use as birch oil scent as now associated with the food, until it becomes a bridge to the food.

In the third session, it started out with a couple of food pieces in there with the birch, but at the end no food in with the birch.   Then the handler is throwing the food in once they recognize the dog has identified where the odor is. Also the box drills are being used as opposed to the more difficult searches that were being used (various containers, chairs, tables, agility items, et)

So these were a couple of passes with Leon. Not exciting work I know, but Leon has a great time doing this, and I love that:)
